Message |
Meaning of the visual story was obvious through use of photo effects, colors, size, proportion, textures, and dimension. The main idea the author is making is obvious.
Meaning of the visual story may need some explanation, however, once the explanation is offered, the audience may see how the elements determine meaning.
Meaning of the visual story is easily misunderstood. Effects, colors, size, and other features do not share commonalities, therefore, altering meaning.
Connections |
Visual story tells an exact opposite account of the partner’s story. Each contradict the other based on visual elements.
Visual stories begin to take an alternate route; although the stories contradict each other, it may be through excessive text features or the like.
Visual story may be the same story as the partner OR doesn’t match the partner’s story in any way. Elements used may be similar, therefore, telling an incomplete story.
Visual Elements |
Elements and effects such as proportion, color, depth, and direction are used to set a mood for the story. These elements tell the story well with little interpretation needed from the author. Appropriate elements have been chosen without going overboard.
Too many elements may have been used, which confuses the audience. Some elements may be mismatched, altering meaning.
Few, if any, visual elements are used OR elements are not consistent, therefore, confusing the author.
Participation with Group |
Participation in group was evident through use of discussion boards and the connection between the two stories. Group demonstrated interdependence through successful completion of the project with no intervention from the instructor.
Participation was lacking. Little, if any, communication to partners or group members was evident.
Intervention from the instructor may have been necessary for the completion of the project in a timely manner. |
Aesthetics of Glog |
Images, stickers, text boxes, etc. are all strategically placed to use the most of the space. Colors and types of images coordinate.
Glog may seem busy. Few additional aesthetic pieces such as stickers or text boxes don’t follow theme.
Images, stickers, text boxes, etc. are placed haphazardly throughout the Glog. Could have either too much “white” space OR too many added features, taking away from the message.
